About Your Dog

Behaviour Section

The aim of this section is to acknowledge that your dog's behaviour has an original cause. By finding the source and exploring that, we can get to the sole reason/reaction of the behaviour pattern much faster, which ultimately saves time and stress for your dog and you as the owner.

Physical Changes

Physical changes can include illness, brain changes, pain and infection. If the dog is going through some subtle physical changes that have gone unnoticed, his behaviour may change. This is why it's important that a dog with obvious behaviour changes sees a vet.

Behaviour can always be explored to discover the cause. Therefore, it is important to look at each of the following areas of your dog's life, for elimination and/or confirmation purposes.

Behaviour triggered by a nurturing experience means that the action is learned. This includes behaviour that may have been triggered then become a habit shortly after.

Is the behaviour being triggered or reinforced by the environment or people in it? Have there been any recent environmental changes that cause this pattern of behaviour, i.e. when your dog is in the garden, or during walks .etc

Dog Behaviour Training

1. All dogs being trained must be fully vaccinated and on a regular flea and worm control regime. Proof of current vaccinations must be supplied before your first training session.

2. Pet Insurance is highly recommended. Owners are responsible for all vet bills, no matter how they are incurred.

3. We accept no responsibility for loss of, or injury to, your dog whilst training with us.

4. All dogs must be kept on a lead unless otherwise instructed.

5. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

6. We believe using positive reinforcement is the most effective way to train dogs. We do not allow dogs to be handled forcefully during our training.

The use of punishment as a training method has been proven to create negative side effects in dogs. Owners who are seen to use such handling methods will be asked to leave immediately and will not be offered a refund.

7. No choke chains are permitted in our training class, flat collars or harnesses are recommended

11. Training sessions may be held outdoors, and terrain may be uneven and slippery in places.

12. We must be alerted to any aggressive behavioural problems prior to accepting a booking. No aggressive dogs are allowed at our training classes and any dogs deemed to be aggressive by the trainer will leave or be asked to leave.

13. We usually take photographs/videos throughout our training and group classes to publish on our Online Gallery/Website, Social Media and Advertisements.
